at the magical sleepy hollow, for gloucestershire quarter final in the national village club knock out.  where stapleton take on congbasbury.  this is 3rd tier vs 4 tier, with both plying their trade in the west of england premier cricket league. congresbury 87 for 4 after 13 overs. 40 overs aside.  both teams dareing to dream of a september final at lords.  32 regions, with 8 teams in each.   with the 32 regional winners making up the last 32. Yesterdays result from sleepy hollow, and an easy 164 run victory for congress bury. not totally unexpected as this was 3rd tier vs 4th, and the home side only having 4 first teamers available too. put into     congressbury mustered a seemingly below parr total  of 222 all out and only batted 36 of 40 overs. michael fisher, top scoring with  a belligerent 64 including 14 4s. next top scorer michael edmonds with 29. mani Bevan, 3 for 33, james slade, 2 for 34, will meller, 2 for 25  and ash bi...

 at gorse lane, home of grantham cc for day 2 of this minor counties eastern division clash between lincolnshire and northumberland.  lincs are 2nd after 3 games, 16 points behind leaders staffordshire with suffolk a point back in 3rd.  northumberland are struddling and are 2nd from bottom.  i arrive with northumberland on 153 for 6  in reply to lincs 370 for 5 declared, in which jack timby top scored with 124, danniel freeman weighing in with 110.  karl wilson 59 and joseph kendal 41. to give you some background, the minor counties championship has an eastern and western division, both have ten teams, with the winner of each division playing off to decide the championship.  matches are 3 day affairs but 120 overs is bowled, and an innings can only last 90 overs.  phil mustard is donning the gloves for northumberland. each team however only plays 6 games due to the to work conmitments of the players stumps here at gorse lane and its all set for a ...

Saturday second October 2021.

at a wet and windy recreation park. for Scottish league division 3. Alloa Athletic, 5th, won 3 drawn 2 lost 3, vs cove rangers, 3rd, won 4, drawn 2, lost 2.  athletic have, over the years predominantly plied their trade at the 3rd level of Scottish football, but were in the championship last year, but were relegated from wence they came. the upwardly mobile cove, however, narrowly missed out on 3 back to back promotions last term, finishing 3rd in this league. they won promotion to the Scottish league in 2019 from the highland league. their greatest achievement thus far apart from their league success being that they reached the Scottish cup 4th round in 2008 when still amateur.  ft from recreation park, and cove go top of division 3 with a 3 won victory.  the game got off to the worst possible start for the wasps, when they had a man sent off after 25 seconds, for a kick in the chest on a rangers player. rangers took the lead after half an hour, but alloa equalised at th...
