castleford batting first where the sun has just broken through in sunny cas vagus.

result from saville park. and what a tense and nail biting finish. castleford batting first mustered 180 for 7 from 50 overs, a seemingly below parr total. ex derbyshire batter chezney hughes, 33 and liam hide, top scoring with 38. sam wood, the pick of the richmondshire bowlers with 3 for 34. but shire found the going equally as tough when batting. they lost wickets stidily throughout, but an unbroken 31 run 9th wicket partnership took them to the brink. the equation was 3 runs from 2 balls, chezney hughes bowled a legside wide to make it 2 from 2. matty cowling, 65 not out tried a reverse sweep and was caught on the boundary. then, hughes finished off the job by bowling the number 11 next ball, and a one run win for cas. they will go onto play woodlands in mext weekend's showpiece final at headingley. fabulous stuff.
