at a wet and windy recreation park. for Scottish league division 3. Alloa Athletic, 5th, won 3 drawn 2 lost 3, vs cove rangers, 3rd, won 4, drawn 2, lost 2. 

athletic have, over the years predominantly plied their trade at the 3rd level of Scottish football, but were in the championship last year, but were relegated from wence they came. the upwardly mobile cove, however, narrowly missed out on 3 back to back promotions last term, finishing 3rd in this league. they won promotion to the Scottish league in 2019 from the highland league. their greatest achievement thus far apart from their league success being that they reached the Scottish cup 4th round in 2008 when still amateur.

the game got off to the worst possible start for the wasps, when they had a man sent off after 25 seconds, for a kick in the chest on a rangers player. rangers took the lead after half an hour, but alloa equalised at the start of the 2nd half, following a corner which deflected of off a cove player. 

the wasps almost took the lead with a shot against the keeper. rangers went down the other end and scored 2 quick goals, a roary mcalister hattrick doing for alloa to take his tally to ten goals already this term. chant of the day from an alloa fan. oh when the wasps go marching in. 

not quite sure how this is scientifically possible, as never seen a wasp go marching in before. 

and, to compound  alloa's misery, their bitter local rivals stirling albion beat elgin city 2 nil today.fair play to the few hardy soles who made the long journey down from cove, and stood getting drenched on an  uncovered terrace through out.

at the barbican theatre, york. for uk snooker open 2nd round action. this being the 2nd most important tournament in snooker behind the world championship. today's action sees rocket ronnie o'sullivan take on the milkman, robert milkins from gloucester on table 1, and john higgins vs yen njou from china on table 2.  1 pm start. £25 admition.  best of 11 frames. my 1st live snooker action. full time from the barbican theatre. and a cracking match on table 1 goes the way of world ranked no. one, ronnie the rocket O’Sullivan. 6 frames to 5. the milkman from Gloucester stormed into a rather lucky 2 nil lead, but his dodgy safety play, along with his inability to sink the pressure pots eventually did for him. the rocket roared back to take a 4 2 lead,  but this sparked the milkman into action.  they traded frames to leave ronnie leading  5 3, but milkins won 2 on the trot to  set up a nervy decider. milkins missed a crucial pot,  and the rocket showed all of his experience and knowh

Wednesday the 17th of February, 2024.  at de campo municipal tahiche, for regional preferente de las palmos action. otherwise known as the 5th tier of spanish football, where football is regionalised. game based on lanzarote, with this being the Canary Islands, regional league. 18 team division, with the league winners playing off with other regions for promotion to step 4. cd tahiche today taking on cd brenamen. 4 euros entry. 4 45 pm kick off. About 23° and the crowd in excess of 150. ft from the de campo nunicipal tahiche, and a 3 nil win for the home side with goals on 5, 67, and 92 mins respectively. roughly...  A hardcopy paper souvenir match ticket to.

 at ewen fieles, home of hyde united for manchester premier cup final, fc united of manchester, 14th in conference north vs trafford, just outside play offs in step 4 northern league division 1 north.  fc won this conpetition on a barmy evening last may at oldham's boundary park, and with them having secured safety last week will be hoping to retain their crown.  trafford will be hoping to spring a cup upset.  but the weather is far from barmy here in east manchester this evening. late drama at ewen fields.  ft 2 each.  trafford better side in first half, much more cohetion, and appeared to watt it more.  2 each at ht, with fc coming behind both times.  traford man sent off in 2nd half which gave fc momentum but they could not make the extra man count.  game went to penalties.  this sparked panic amongst some  fans, some of whom hurried to the car park which closed at ten pm and aiming to avoid their car being empounded before the cut off time.    the rest of us charged down the ot
