Saturday 19 June 2021.

its yet another glorious sun drenched saturday afternoon and today's live action comes from  rishworth park,  for bradford premier cricket league 4th division action between cross flats, 2nd, and liversedge, 10th and 3rd from bottom.

flats are 5 points behind leaders brighouse, and this is their debut season in the league, having joined from the craven league last term, and having swept all   before them in that competition.

liversedge joined from the now defunked central yorkshire league in 2016 which merged with the bradford league to make 4 divisions but have never managed to make it out of the basement division since the merger.

 cross flats batting first.

result from rishworth park. excellent game which ebbed and flowed through out and an aggrigate of 594 runs in the day's play went the way of cross flats. they slid to 116 for 7, then 175 for 8, before an unbroken ninth wicket partnership between dominic bennett, who came in number 3 and plundered 144 not out with 19 4s and 7 sixes and mohammed shanawaz, batting number 10 with 66. in reply, ruban shuttleworth scored 75 for liversedge, but they appeared to be falling further and further behind the rate before alex willis, 61 and will atkin 81 took then to to within 47 runs before both were dismissed in quick succession. some spirited lusty lower hitting though was in vain. 19 points for cross flats and 9 for liversedge. excellent game.

cross flats getting home by 12 runs and liversedge finishing on 291 for 9. flats strengthen their grip on 2nd place with brighouse also victorious yesterday to stay top.
