home team enjoying best period in their history having earned back to back  promotions,  and now in with a very outside chance of 3rd place and promotion play off with 3rd bottom of bundes division 1. st pauli are right in the mire, and need points for the opposite reasons. 

they are the left wing alternative team from hamburg who pride themselves on conmunity engagement and being socially inclusive.

 ft regensberg 3 st pauli 1. 

an easy victory which sees the continuation of the regensberg fairytail. 

they raced into a 3 nil lead before half time. 

st pauli got one back in 2nd half but their wows were conpounded even fvrther by having a man sent off on 75 mins. 

regensberg are within 2 points of 3rd in a rediculously topsy turvey and close league.

at the barbican theatre, york. for uk snooker open 2nd round action. this being the 2nd most important tournament in snooker behind the world championship. today's action sees rocket ronnie o'sullivan take on the milkman, robert milkins from gloucester on table 1, and john higgins vs yen njou from china on table 2.  1 pm start. £25 admition.  best of 11 frames. my 1st live snooker action. full time from the barbican theatre. and a cracking match on table 1 goes the way of world ranked no. one, ronnie the rocket O’Sullivan. 6 frames to 5. the milkman from Gloucester stormed into a rather lucky 2 nil lead, but his dodgy safety play, along with his inability to sink the pressure pots eventually did for him. the rocket roared back to take a 4 2 lead,  but this sparked the milkman into action.  they traded frames to leave ronnie leading  5 3, but milkins won 2 on the trot to  set up a nervy decider. milkins missed a crucial pot,  and the rocket showed all of his experience and knowh

Saturday nine March 2024.

at stockham lane, for northern premier league div1 west action. step 4. game of the day in this league pits 2nd vs 4th.  Runcorn Linets vs Bootle.  home side in the 1st of the 4 play off spots, and 12 points run away leaders Leek Town.  bootle just 3 points behind them in 4th.  £10 entry on a cool and cloudy day. 3pm kick off. home side formed in 2006 following the collapse of Runcorn fc, who actually won what is now the national league in 1982 but weren't elected to the football league.  a local derby of sorts with the teams just 22  miles apart large crowd expected. full time from yesterday and a one nil win for bootle.  they scored mid way through the first half and virtually parked the bus for the entirety thereafter.  runcorn had  several half chances in the 2nd half, but bootle stood firm they remain in 4th, whilst runcorn slip down to 3rd behind prescott cables. crowd 611.
