at st pauls avenue, for this first round clash in the jack hampshire cup. this is the competition for 3rd and 4th tier teams in the bradford league. where today, buttershaw st pauls take on hunslet nelson. both teams ply their trade at step 3 of the bradford league pyramid, with st pauls having started this campaign in much better fettle than today's opponents. both teams will be out to emulate yeadon, the last winners of this trophy in 2019. st pauls batting first under cloudy skies. hoping for a close contest in between the showers.

result from st pauls avenue from yesterday. and hunslet nelson's wretched start to the campaign continues, as they crash to a 63 run defeat to buttershaw. they put the home side in, who mustered 178 for 9 in 40 overs on a slow pitch and wet outfield.

james robson, 50, and matthew kellet, 35 top scoring with the wickets being shared around amongst the nelson bowlers.

but only sam hay, batting no 9 top scored with 25, and william stiff, 20 put up any form of resistance. cam sadiq, 5 for 24, and matthew kellett, 3 for 22, the destroyers in chief for buttershaw.
