 at cowersley lane, where we're very much approaching the business end of the Sykes cup. the knock out cup competition for the huddersfield league. today's semi final pits Broad Oak against the all conquering Hoylandswaine. This is 9th vs 1st upon current league standings. Swaine have swept all before them in recent times in both league and cup competitions, and will be hot favourites today. but Oak will be hoping that they can make home advantage tell. Broad Oak based in the village of Linthwaite, several miles from Huddersfield. Hoylandswaine batting first and are 45  for 1 off 9 overs, with play currently stopped due to a hopefully brief  for rain.

yesterday's result from cowersley lane, and hoylandswaine reach the sykes cup semi final with an easy 76 run victory over broad oak. 

batting first, they posted an imposing 216 for 6 from a rain reduced 31 overs, with the target being d l s adjusted  to 236. 

Daniel taylor, 3 for 57, the best of the broad oak bowlers. contributions all down the order from the swaine batsman. 70, 54, and 40 being the most notable. 

Charlie roebuck a swash buckling 32, gave broad oak a good start, but wickets fell at regular intervals, and oak succumbed for 159 all out  to go  down by  "76 runs. junade khan, 3 for 20, and adeel baig, 3 for 10 for swaine. who will now play either armitage bridge or moorlands who meet in next week's other semi.
