at the barry jackson ground. for group a action in the gordon rigg bradford league t 20 competition. where new farnley take on hartshead moor.

farnley lost their opener in this last week to east bierley. whilst moore have their first outing in this competition. there are 4 groups of 4, with the group winners going through to the semi finals. farnley have a unique set of zinger stumps, rather than zinger bales, which light up whenever a batter is bowled. far better than any poxy ausie invention.

result from the barry jackson ground.

and new farnley get off the mark in  the t 20 comp with a convincing 98 run thrashing of hartshead moore.

it looked all so different when farnley were 16 for 2 after 5 overs, but , dan hodgson, 104 from 54 balls, and steve bullen, 75 from 57, saw them to 190 for no further loss. hartshead moor folded meakly under the weight of scoreboard pressure, and ended up 92 for 9, with farnley's young leg spinner jack dyson, hoovering up their tail with 4 quick wickets.

farnley also plundered 91 runs from their last 5 overs to take the game well and truely away from moore. farnley are a truely welcoming club, with 3 real ales on tap, plus a pizza oven, so, i was truely in cricketing heaven with the sunshine out too. although mercifully, the davis top did stay on for the duration, due to the drop in temperature.
